The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies into the community.
SASSA will be rendering companies including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed about the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant quantity sassa status check of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area each day. The support position made for intervention activities a superior inflow of probable beneficiaries, which makes it difficult with the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to allow the servicing of all clients and improve entry to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
